Cosplay catwalk: Any cosplayer can join a cosplay catwalk by applying on the day it takes place. You walk on stage, show how awesome you look by striking a few poses and then exit the stage. Usually a cosplay catwalk is not competitive in nature, but sometimes a lucky catwalker is selected to receive a prize.
Cosplay competition: You have (at least partially) made your own cosplay and present an act on stage. You apply in advance and explain to the judges how you've made your costume. You then perform your prepared act on stage; This act includes audio which enhances your performance.
Costume competition: You have (completely) made your own cosplay and are able to articulate how you made it. You apply in advance and explain to the judges how you've made your costume. You can then show it on stage, without any specific requirements for stage presence. Usually, our hosts tell the audience some interesting facts about your costume, or interview you on stage.
Performance competition: There are no crafting requirements when it comes to your cosplay and you only present an act on stage. You apply in advance and perform your prepared act on stage; This act includes audio which enhances your performance.
